As many of you know through Twitter, this last week has been extremely frantic, as I suddenly found myself in the situation of potentially being homeless in just over a week. Within minutes, I desperately put an appeal out on my Twitter profile for help, unsure of what response I'd get.
I shouldn't have been, as I instantly got lots of suggestions and shitloads of retweets, which lead to lots of offers and suggestions from complete strangers. Maybe the positive side of humanity isn't dead afterall.
Thankfully, through pure luck, I am now in a small flat, looking after a cat and some fish while their owner is abroad for a little while. There has been a lot of stress and stuff, but it's all kind of sorted now. I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who responded. You are all wonderful people, you really are.
At the end of the day, I know I was very, very lucky, in that if things hadn't worked out, I would have had an option to fall back on. Not my ideal option, but an option all the same. Not everyone has such an option and not everyone feels like they have any option other than to rough it out on the streets. So, if you can, please help those in such situations. Help Shelter to help them.
Once again, thank you.
